HC Deb 19 November 1946 vol 430 c91W
182. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Minister without Portfolio how many deserters from His Majesty's Forces are still at large in this country, at the nearest convenient date; and where they are mainly thought to be located.

Mr. Bellenger

Owing to the indisposition of my right hon. Friend the Minister without Portfolio I have been asked to reply. I can only give figures based on the location at the date of desertion and I have no information about the present location of men who have not yet surrendered or been apprehended. The figures are at the latest convenient date, for the Navy 1,500, the Army 13,176 and the Royal Air Force 392.
