HC Deb 06 November 1946 vol 428 c299W
Sir T. Dugdale

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that those attending a lecture on the morning of Saturday 19th October, at the barracks, Richmond, Yorkshire, were subjected to Communist propaganda and that no time was given by the lecturer for subsequent discussion; and what steps are taken by his Department to ensure that political lectures given to the forces are kept free from party political bias.

Mr. Bellenger

Everything possible is done to ensure that advocacy of any particular party or political movement is avoided in lectures given to the Army. I am inquiring into the case referred to and will write to the hon. and gallant Member.
