HC Deb 05 November 1946 vol 428 cc210-1W
76. Brigadier Low

asked the Secretary of State for War for how many married families he plans to have quarters in the United Kingdom in 1947, 1948 and 1949 respectively.

Mr. Bellenger

1,373 officers' married quarters built before the war will all, I hope, be available for occupation next year. 13,485 other ranks' married quarters were built before the war. 1,000 are now being built and should all be completed next year. Plans for an extensive programme for officers and other ranks' married quarters for 1948 are in hand and I shall be able to give particulars when I present Army Estimates to the House. Plans have not yet been made for the building programme for 1949.
