§ Mr. J. J. Robertsonasked the Minister of Supply the average monthly rate of production of marine diesel engines of from 40 to 120 h.p. now being manufactured in this country; and what percentage of these engines is being exported.
§ Mr. WilmotI regret that the information asked for in the first part of the Question is not available, as the statistics collected from manufacturers do not distinguish these engines by horse-power. About 50 per cent. of all diesel engines are exported, but the proportion of slow-moving engines is, under arrangements with the firms concerned, considerably less and in no case is it more than one-third.
