HC Deb 05 November 1946 vol 428 cc216-7W
84. Mr. G. Brown

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will now indicate the nature of the arrangements made to relieve the shortage of overnight accommodation in Derby for members of the Forces proceeding through this town on leave.

Mr. Bellenger

There are now some 6o beds available in Derby throughout the week and another 60 improvised ones at the week-end. Congestion occurs not because of the number passing through the town on leave but because so many visit the town on week-end leave.
