HC Deb 04 November 1946 vol 428 c199W
Mr. Willis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has considered the representations made on behalf of the British Legion (Scotland) for the installation of a perpetual light on the Scottish War Memorial; and what action he proposes to take.

Mr. Westwood

Further consideration of this proposal, which has been regarded as impracticable when examined on previous occasions, must await a decision on the arrangements for the future administration of the memorial. These are still under discussion but I can assure the hon. Member that, when they are finally settled, the whole question will be gone into in consultation with the body to which responsibility for the shrine is entrusted.
