HC Deb 04 November 1946 vol 428 c183W
106. Mr. A. Edward Davies

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the widely dissimilar fares which are being charged by railway and omnibus companies for similar services; and whether he will take action to establish something like parity and to achieve the best use of both methods of travel.

Mr. Barnes

I am aware of the differences, an explanation of which I gave in answer to my hon. Friend the Member for Stretford (Mr. Austin) on 24th October. I regret that it is not at present practicable to remove these differences.
