HC Deb 31 May 1946 vol 423 cc244-5W
Mr. Goronwy Roberts

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that unemployed persons in the Clynnog district of Caernarvonshire are obliged to travel to the Penygroes local office each Friday in order to receive their benefit, at a cost of 1s. 10d. omnibus fare; and if he will either arrange for benefit to be paid in the village of Clynnog each Friday, or for benefit to be sent by post to recipients, as already is the case with unemployed persons in the neighbouring village of Trevor.

Mr. Isaacs

Yes, Sir; and in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of National Insurance I am arranging for the unemployed persons in the Clynnog district to be paid by post as from the pay week in respect of week ending 8th June.
