Mr. John Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if, in view of the importance to this country of oil supplies from South Persia, he will make arrangements for a party of Members of Parliament to visit that area to study conditions in the oil industry.

My right hon. Friend is arranging for a party composed of the hon Members for Bolton (Mr. J. Jones), Hulme (Mr. Lee) and Rye (Mr. Cuthbert) to proceed to South Persia in the immediate future to examine and consider labour conditions in the area of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company.
