HC Deb 16 May 1946 vol 422 c271W
Mr. Thornton-Kemsley

asked the Minister of Labour the regulations governing the entry into the United Kingdom of domestic workers from Eire for whom a specific application has been made by a prospective employer in this country.

Mr. Isaacs:

After the employer has obtained the approval of my local officer and satisfied him that the wages are appropriate and that the household is in need of help, the worker must obtain a Travel Permit Card from the Eire Government and a British visa from the United Kingdom Permit Office in Dublin.
