HC Deb 15 May 1946 vol 422 c226W
77. Mr. Erroll

asked the Minister of Food if he will now approximately estimate the amounts and kinds of fresh fruit which will be available for the general public during the coming season; and what proportion of the crops will be diverted to jam and preserve manufacturers.

Sir B. Smith:

I have consulted my right hon. Friend, the Minister of Agriculture, and I fear it is too early yet to make even an approximate estimate of this season's fresh fruit crop.
