§ 100. Lieut.-Colonel Price-Whiteasked the Minister of Town and Country Planning if he will announce the nature of the concessions made by Messrs. Butlins to the authorities concerned, in regard to the future use of the Penychain Camp at Pwllheli as a holiday camp, in view of the expressed anxiety in certain quarters in Caernarvonshire as to the nature of such concessions.
§ Mr. Silkin:The concessions which Messrs. Butlins have agreed to make are as follows: the planting of trees and shrubs for screening purposes; the provision of public access along the eastern boundary of the camp site and across fields from two points on the western boundary to Penychain Point, where the public will be allowed to roam at will; the provision of a narrow strip of land on the northern boundary of the camp to enable a diversion of the main road to be made; the land on the north side of the new road to 177W be sterilised as regards building; the provision of a car park with access at a point to be agreed by the planning authority, and the colour of the external painting of the camp buildings to be similarly agreed.
