HC Deb 14 May 1946 vol 422 c175W
91 Air-Commodore Harvey

asked the Secretary of State for War how many new passenger motor cars have been purchased for the Army, R.N. and R.A.F., since V J-Day; and how many in this period have been sent overseas.

Mr. Bellenger:

The War Department has received some 3,900 cars from production since V J-Day and the Admiralty and Air Ministry five and 325 respectively. Some 6,500 cars have been sent overseas during the same period; it is impossible to say how many of the vehicles sent overseas were new vehicles.
