HC Deb 14 May 1946 vol 422 c186W
125. Captain Bullock

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether his attention has been called to the decision of the French Government to issue coupons for an initial allowance of 33 gallons of petrol to British tourists visiting France, and a further allowance for each week's stay in that country; and whether he will reciprocate this courtesy by extending similar facilities to French tourists wishing to bring their motor cars to Britain.

Mr. Shinwell:

Yes, Sir. Arrangements are already in operation by which visitors to this country from Overseas who bring a car or motor cycle with them can obtain a basic petrol ration book, and also supplementary coupons for any necessary business journeys they may desire to make.
