§ 85. Mr. T. Reidasked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that it will require an expenditure of about £4,000 to repair the damage done to the beautiful Coate Water, Swindon, by military occupation, details of which have been supplied to him; and if he will compensate the Swindon town council equitably, irrespective of the technical point about the exact regulation under which the place was both used and occupied.
§ Mr. Bellenger:As the case for paying, more than the compensation allowed by the Compensation Defence Act, 1939, depends on the need for restoration of an amenity, I am consulting my right hon. Friend the Minister of Town and Country Planning.
