HC Deb 14 May 1946 vol 422 c182W
Mr. Gaitskell

asked the Minister of Works how many prisoners of war are to be employed in brickmaking; and how many are now so employed.

Mr. Tomlinson:

The number of prisoners of war to be employed in brick-making will depend upon the availability of British recruits. On 27th April, 2,300 prisoners were employed in brickworks.
