70. Lieut.-Colonel Byers

asked the Minister of Supply whether he will publish the findings of the recent departmental inquiry into the functions and practices of the Iron and Steel Federation.

Mr. Wilmot:

No such inquiry has been made.

75. Sir H. Watt

asked the Minister of Supply what consultation with the iron and steel industry took place before the Government policy was announced on 17th April.

Mr. Wilmot:

Exploratory discussions took place with representatives of the British Iron and Steel Federation and the Joint Iron Council on certain aspects of their reports.
