§ Sir R. Youngasked the Minister of National Insurance how far his investigations have proceeded regarding the pension claim of Mr. J. Waters, Camberwell, which was sent to him a considerable time 122W ago; and whether the stamped cards, sent by him to Cardiff, were credited to him for National Health Insurance benefits.
§ Mr. J. Griffiths:The investigation of the pension claim has been completed and Mr. Waters has been awarded a contributory old age pension with effect from the date of his 65th birthday. The necessary papers to enable him to obtain payment (including the accrued arrears) were sent to him on 4th May. Mr. Waters had failed in the past to surrender stamped contribution cards at regular intervals and his pension claim has only been settled after prolonged investigation into his employment record over long past periods. The stamped cards referred to in the second part of the Question do not appear to have been received, but I am making further inquiries and I will communicate with my hon. Friend again as soon as possible.
