§ Mr. Hobsonasked the Secretary of State for War if he will give an assurance that officers in group 27, I.F.T.C., Clairwood, Natal, will be released when their group number is due, since they have been given no information as yet.
§ Mr. Lawson:I am awaiting a report from the overseas Command concerned on this matter, and as soon as it is received I will write to my hon. Friend.
§ Colonel Stoddart-Scottasked the Secretary of State for War when group 25 of R.A.S.C. officers in the M.E.F. will be released; how many R.A.S.C. officers in this group have been deferred; and what is the percentage of R.A.S.C. officers in group 25 in the M.E.F. that have been deferred.
§ Mr. Lawson:Sixty-six R.A.S.C. officers of group 25 in the Middle East have not yet been sent home for release as their release has been deferred on operational grounds. This represents about 70 per cent. of the R.A.S.C. officers of group 25 who were in the Command. I hope that it will be possible to release all these officers in the course of this month
