HC Deb 08 May 1946 vol 422 c99W
82. Mr. Touche

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether his attention has been called to the importation into Kenya, by a Government contractor in Manchester, of 500,000 jackets anc trousers for sale at 4s. each; and why this large amount of clothing has been sent to Kenya at this price.

Mr. Marquand:

I understand that the jackets and trousers in question have been advertised in Kenya at the price mentioned, but I have no evidence that the goods have been exported. Since 23rd April, non-utility garments have been removed from the export licensing list.
