HC Deb 08 May 1946 vol 422 c112W
Captain Crookshank

asked the Minister of Works the present rate of production of baths; to what extent their release is being restricted to prefabricated houses; and for what reason.

Mr. Tomlinson:

The present production of baths represents an annual rate of about 250,000. Of this production, 75 per cent. is of the Magna type, which by reason of its dimensions is specially suitable for use in temporary houses. In order that the temporary houses may be completed for occupation as rapidly as possible, the manufacturers have been directed to give priority in delivery for this use, which is at present absorbing the greater part of the production of this type of bath.
