HC Deb 07 May 1946 vol 422 c77W
93. Mr. Hardy

asked the Minister of Works if he has any statement to make about the release of hotels in Stratford-on-Avon.

Mr. Tomlinson:

The Government requisitioned altogether 12 hotels in Stratford-on-Avon. Five have been derequisitioned and the remaining seven are in process of being derequisitioned. Three of the seven have already been re-occupied by the owners and in the remaining cases facilities for re-occupation are being offered to the owners. In two instances derequisitioning was proposed in August, 1945, but the owners were not anxious for early release.
