asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many cases of smallpox have been notified in Scotland this year; how many came from ships from India; and what was the vaccinal condition of each case.

Mr. Westwood:

Only one case of smallpox has been notified in Scotland this year in the person of an Army officer returning on a troopship from India. The officer was vaccinated in infancy and on several occasions during his Army service.
