HC Deb 06 May 1946 vol 422 cc40-1W
Mr. Glossop

asked the Minister of Transport when it is proposed to use the Mulberry harbour at present in the river Humber at Hull; and whether he is aware that the lack of its facilities is delaying the disembarkation of troops returning on leave from the Continent.

Mr. Barnes:

The Mulberry harbour at Riverside Quay, Hull, will be brought into use as soon as the railway connecting works now in progress are completed which, it is hoped, will be by mid-June. Provision of these railway facilities will enable troops to proceed direct from boat to train and so save time at present spent in movement by road from the King George Dock to Paragon Station.
