HC Deb 01 May 1946 vol 422 c18W
39. Mr. Carson

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many motor dories are now lying idle at Richborough harbour; to what purpose it is intended to put these craft; and whether they will be made available to fishermen in need of this type of vessel.

Mr. W. Edwards:

Thirty motor dories, approximately half of which have already been re-allocated, were placed in storage at Richborough as a reserve for training requirements. These particular craft constitute an essential reserve and, I regret, cannot be made available for fishing.
