asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what is the purpose of the Customs Import Duties (Drawback) Order of 8th April, 1946, Statutory Rules arid Orders, 1946, No. 493; and why no explanatory memorandum was attached to it.

Mr. Glenvil Hall:

This Order brings the rate of drawback payable on exported textile bobbins into line with the average amount of duty chargeable at present day values on the imported material used in making them. No explanatory memorandum is considered necessary.
