HC Deb 01 May 1946 vol 422 c25W
65. Mr. Douglas Marshall

asked the Minister of Supply when the Tudor II will be put into operation; and at what rate will these machines he delivered up to 31st December, 1946.

Mr. Woodburn:

Various technical difficulties have delayed the production of the Tudor II. Trials are now being carried out with the prototype model and if, as we hope, these are satisfactory, the first production aircraft is expected to be handed over in September next. From then on, the production rate will progressively increase. I am assured by my Noble Friend, the Minister of Civil Aviation, that these aircraft will be brought into service without delay after the necessary training and development flights by the operators.
