HC Deb 21 March 1946 vol 420 cc418-9W
112. Mr. Proctor

asked the Minister of War Transport if he will make arrangements to distribute surplus service motor- cars or other vehicles to disabled ex-Servicemen or ex-Servicemen who need a vehicle for the purpose of earning a livelihood, at valuation without reconditioning.

Mr. Barnes

The only surplus vehicles of which the allocation is under my control are cars which are reconditioned by the trade. My Department does not deal with the disposal of unreconditioned surplus Service cars which is governed by the answer given on Monday last by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Supply and Aircraft Production to a question by my hon. Friend the Member for North Edinburgh (Mr. Willis).
