HC Deb 21 March 1946 vol 420 cc404-5W
57. Mr. Drayson

asked the Minister of Labour if he will consider dispensing with form L.2.N. in certain industries or, alternatively, require this to be completed at two or three monthly intervals, so that the staff and time now taken in filling up this form monthly can be put to a more useful purpose.

Mr. Ness Edwards

This return is rendered by employers in the food, drink and tobacco, textile, clothing, leather, wood, paper and other industries manufacturing mainly for civilian consumption. These industries are now being built up and it is essential that returns of the numbers employed should be rendered at monthly intervals in order that the Government and the country may have up to date information of the progress achieved.
