asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the Government's policy on the purchase of raw cotton, individuals and firms in this country will be permitted to buy raw cotton in overseas countries for delivery to other countries.

Yes, Sir, subject of course to any exchange control requirements which may apply.

The Control now sells direct to consumers, and there is no present intention of changing this practice.
