HC Deb 20 March 1946 vol 420 c386W
119. Mr. Garry Allighan

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he has considered the recent complaint by the whole of one squadron at R.A.F. station No. 16 R.C., Sudbury, of overcrowding, lack of bathing facilities and indifferent food, and what statement he has to make on the matter.

Mr. Strachey

We shall not be using this wartime station permanently as a recruits' centre, but I have no knowledge of any complaint of the character referred to by my hon. Friend. The present strength is slightly less than the full number, which can be accommodated at the station and I am told that there are ample facilities for hot baths. The food is said to be excellent.
