asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will permit coalface miners exemption from Pay-as-you-Earn on output earnings which are in excess of those required for the minimum wage, from 1st October to 1st January, in order to provide concrete evidence on which to base his next Budget proposals;

(2) if he will allow all agricultural workers' overtime to be free of Pay-as-you-Earn for the harvest period.
