HC Deb 26 February 1946 vol 419 c365W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will consider the position of university students who have recently been called up for military service and who at the time of enlistment had registered with their university to take an examination; and if he will undertake to see that these young men are detained in this country meanwhile and given facilities to sit for the examination for which they have so registered.

Mr. Lawson

Once these men are in the Army they must be subject to the normal rules for posting like all other classes of men in the Army. Any question of deferment of call-up for particular individuals or classes of men is a matter to be decided by the Ministry of Labour and National Service.
