HC Deb 26 February 1946 vol 419 c370W
Mr. Popplewell

asked the Secretary of State for War why Polish troops have been placed along the road Trieste-Opcina; and, in view of the possible danger of open skirmishes between these troops and the residents of the villages along the Morgan Line, if he will take steps to have these forces withdrawn.

Mr. Lawson

There is no foundation for the suggestion that Polish troops are at present employed on the Trieste-Opcina road. No Polish troops are now employed east of the river Tagliamenti.
