HC Deb 21 February 1946 vol 419 c299W
Wing-Commander Hulbert

asked the Minister of War Transport if, in the case of British wives of American Servicemen who desire to proceed to the U.S.A. in order to defend divorce petitions, he will afford them the necessary facilities to secure transport.

Mr. Barnes:

The main difficulty in these cases is not transport but the question whether these wives can be admitted to the United States. I shall be ready to discuss with the United States authorities the question of providing transport in any case where the necessary visa for entry into the United States has been obtained.
