HC Deb 21 February 1946 vol 419 c281W
Mr. Mitchison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that an increasing proportion of men in the N.F.S. are men of over 40 years of age, with service throughout the war; whether he is yet able to say upon what date men in the N.F.S., or such of them as are over 40, and with long service, will be permitted to leave without forfeiting their gratuities; and, if not, when he expects to be able to make a statement.

Mr. Ede:

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Reading (Mr. Mikardo) on 24th January.
