Mr. O'Brien

asked the Minister of Health the present position with regard to the negotiations pending for the purchase of 5,050 square yards of land in Breck Hill road by the Arnold Urban District Council: what is the purchase price; whether it agrees with the district valuer's report; and how it compares with the previous rateable value.

Mr. Bevan:

I gave my consent on 28th December last to the purchase of this land by the Arnold Urban District Council at the price of£884, which agrees with the District Valuer's report. The land has been vacant for some years and is therefore not rated.
