§ Sir B. SmithI am aware that a large number of animals, the carcases of which are fit only for manufacturing purposes, are slaughtered at Birmingham. As the supply of meat of ration quality in any area is not affected by the number of animals of manufacturing quality slaughtered in that area, there-would be no advantage in adopting my hon. Friend's suggestion.
