HC Deb 14 February 1946 vol 419 c132W
Major Legge-Bourke

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when, and on what grounds David Disbach, a Russian, and Henry K. Spritzler, a Pole, were admitted to this country; how long they have been here; why they have been allowed to stay; and if they will be deported after having served the sentences which they recently received at the Central Criminal Court.

Mr. Ede

Disbach first arrived in the United Kingdom in 1933, when he landed irregularly under an alias. He subsequently left the country but returned in February, 1939, again irregularly. He was then sentenced to a term of imprisonment after the expiration of which it was found impossible to dispose of him before the outbreak of war. He is already the subject of a Deportation Order. Spritzler came to the United Kingdom in June, 1940, as a member of the Polish Army from which he was discharged on medical grounds in 1943. Consideration will be given to the disposal of these two men in the light of the circumstances prevailing when the prison sentences which they are now serving are nearer expiry.
