§ Mr. T. WilliamsThe number of Italian prisoners of war working in agriculture in Great Britain at the end of December, 1945, was 54,300, of whom about 5,400 were employed in Wales. Italian prisoners will continue to be employed in agriculture until they are repatriated, and I expect that at least an equivalent number of German prisoners will become available in their place to help in achieving our food production programme.
