HC Deb 09 December 1946 vol 431 c164W
49. Colonel Ropner

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is satisfied that the rates of pay provided for the new Agricultural Advisory Service are sufficient to retain enough individuals of the right calibre and of a type who will be able to convince farmers of the value of their advice; and what arrangements are under consideration for improving the rates of Pay.

Mr. T. Williams

The salary scales have been settled in relation to those of other scientific and technical civil servants, and I regard them as satisfactory. The second part of the Question, therefore, does not arise.
