HC Deb 02 December 1946 vol 431 c1W
11. Dr. Jeger

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that there is dissatisfaction among retail grocers with the distribution of unrationed foods, such as Christmas puddings and foods on points such as canned fruits, by whole sale distributors who are also proprietors of chain retail stores and are, therefore, in a position to give priority of allocation to their own shops; and whether he will take steps to allay this dissatisfaction.

Mr. Strachey

I have no reason to think that wholesalers give undue priority to their own retail shops but if my hon. Friend cares to let me have particulars of complaints which have reached him I will gladly look into them.
