§ Major Niall Macphersonasked the Minister of National Insurance when Mr. J. V. Hyslop, 14, Buccleuch Square, Langholm, may expect a reply to his application made on 18th December, 1945, for the necessary card to permit him to continue his contributions under the National Health Act, 1942, as a voluntary contributor.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsI find that Mr. Hyslop's application for voluntary insurance cannot be admitted because he is over 65 years of age and he was informed accordingly on 29th July. According to my information, however, the contributions which have already been paid by Mr. Hyslop are sufficient to entitle him to an old age pension from January next, when he will have completed a period of five years insurance, and he is being advised to that effect.
