HC Deb 09 April 1946 vol 421 cc307-8W
Lieut.-Colonel Byers

asked the Minister of Works whether he is aware of the leakage of water at premises in Sherborne, which results in continual pumping and waste of fuel to the district council; and whether he will make renewed representations to the Ministry of Labour and service authorities for the release under Class B of 14214160 Sergeant E. J. T. Rogers, R.A.S.C., C.M.F., and 11411364 Private Willcocks, Somerset Light Infantry, C.M.F., both of whom are plumbers.

Mr. Tomlinson:

Yes, Sir, I was aware of the leakage of water at Sherborne which I understand has now been rectified. It was not possible to approve the release of the two plumbers in question as key specialists, but if the firm concerned will make known their requirements for plumbers to the local office of the Ministry of Labour everything possible will be done to assist them.
