HC Deb 09 April 1946 vol 421 c291W
89. Mr. Glossop

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that at Low Field Road, Anlaby, near Hull, there are a large number of brick buildings built during the war to house bombed out people from Hull, which are now being partially occupied by the military; and whether he will enable these buildings to be utilised for relieving the housing shortage for civilians in the Haltemprice Urban District Council area.

Mr. Lawson:

The buildings in question form part of the accommodation for Hull Transit Camp which is used by troops moving to and from B.A.O.R. The numbers in occupation naturally vary with the number of troops passing through. I regret that as no other accommodation is available I cannot adopt the hon. Member's suggestion.
