HC Deb 09 April 1946 vol 421 cc279-80W
Sir G. Fox

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will give an estimate of the maximum KWA sub-station that could be erected for the military hospital, Holton Park, Wheatley, which the electric light company's mains could stand; what is the present capacity; when was the plant installed; what was the capacity asked for by the 'War Office; and what was the capacity first erected.

Mr. Shinwell:

The maximum service capacity which the electricity supply undertaking could make available at the military hospital, Holton Park, Wheatley, is estimated at between 750 and 1,000 KVA. The Capacity first asked for and provided, in December, 1942, was 250 KVA. Subsequently, at the request of the War Department the transformer capacity was increased to 300 KVA in January, 1946. About a month ago, a 500 KVA transformer was asked for in place of the existing 300 KVA, and it is expected that the change will be completed within a week or two.
