Mr. Garry Alliģhan

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is yet in a position to reply to the letters sent him by the hon. Member for Gravesend on 28th February, respecting Mr. G. Ashenden, and on 26th February, respecting Mr. T. J. W. Lyons, and 7th March, respecting Flight-Sergeant Rouse.

Mr. Strachey:

Yes, Sir. I had already replied to two of these cases and have now replied to the third.

Mr. Linstead

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air when he will come to a decision upon the application for compassionate home leave or posting from S E.A.C of an aircraftman, of whose name he has been informed, for which an application was made in October, 1945, and renewed on 8th February last.

Mr. Strachey:

The hon. Member will now have received my letter of 29th March and will know that further inquiries into this difficult case are being pursued These difficulties were emphasised in my previous letter of 5th February.
