asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the function of the War Damage Commission in deciding questions of war damage suffered by public utility undertakings.

Mr. Dalton:

The function of the Commission is limited to making advances, on the certificate of the appropriate Department, to Public Utility Undertakings on the conditions set out in Subsection (3) of Section 70 of the War Damage Act, 1943.
