HC Deb 02 April 1946 vol 421 cc168-9W
128. Mr. R. A. Butler

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is now in a position to state the Government's policy with regard to the length of service which shall be required of young men called up to the Forces.

140. Mr. Blyton

asked the Minister of Labour if the Government have yet arrived at a decision as to the length of service required to be served by men called up under compulsory service, as parents are anxious for this information.

Mr. Isaacs:

I am unable to add to the reply given by the Prime Minister to the hon. and gallant Member for East Renfrew (Major Lloyd) on 27th February. The matter is receiving urgent consideration and an announcement will be made as soon as possible.
