HC Deb 09 October 1945 vol 414 cc104-5W
Mr. Medland

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what provision is being made for an increase in the pensions for men who were time expired men prior to 1939 and were recalled for service.

Mr. Alexander

Naval pensioners who were recalled to service have continued to receive payment of full pension in addition to the full pay of the rating in which they served. This arrangement was adopted as being generally more advantageous to the pensioners than the alternative of suspending pension during the period of re-employment on full service pay and allowing mobilised time to count for increase of pension.
